When you’re in Get Sh*t Done (GSD) Mode, you need answers fast and in the flow of work. You can’t afford to switch tabs, search different knowledge bases, read wordy documentation, watch long videos, or wait for a co-worker to live screen share with you. That's where Tango's Guidance feature comes in. Guidance is an entirely new way to experience a Tango Workflow as a viewer. It will change the the way you learn new processes and make it incredibly easy to get answers in the flow of work.

What do I need to access Guidance on a Tango Workflow?

In order to access Guidance, you need the following:

  • A Tango account

  • The Tango extension installed (version is 6.0 or later on Chrome)

  • The Workflow must either be in the same Workspace where you are a member OR you will need to have been invited by email to the Workflow as a Guest Viewer or Editor.

  • Guidance works best on Tangos created after 5/16/2023.

    • If your Tango was created before 5/16, you will be able to open the Guidance Panel, but Guidance Live will be toggled "off." You will see a static workflow which you can follow.

For more information on Guidance access and compatibility, see this article.

Once you've confirmed that you have access and the Workflow is compatible, there are several ways to open Guidance:

1. Click on Guide Me

Click on Guide Me

✅ The Guidance side panel will open on the left, and you'll be taken to the website on the first step. If the Tango is Guidance compatible, we will highlight the first action for you to click on directly on your screen.

Tango Guidance also serves you relevant workflows to the website where you're working, directly from the extension.

1. If you have access to Tangos for that website, a red number will show next to the extension. Click on the extension.

In this instance, there are 19 Tangos available for Intercom

No matter the website you're on, if you have access to Tangos for that website, we will show a red number next to the extension. Click on the extension like you would to start capture.

2. Click Discover a Tango

Click Discover a Tango

3. This will open a list of available Tangos without taking you away from the page where you're working, so you can find the Tango you need, and get back to work.

We'll open a list of available Tangos without taking you away from the page where you're working, so you can find the Tango you need, and get back to work.

4. When a Tango is selected and clicked, the Guidance side panel will open and begin guiding you in the flow of work.

For Guidance compatible Tangos, we will open the Guidance side panel and begin Guidance automatically.
